About Dr. O'Dell Johnson
Where scholarship meets practice.
Scholar-Practitioner • Educator • Speaker • Consultant
O'Dell Johnson is a psychologist, scholar-practitioner, educator, and human-service leader whose work connects evidence, lived experience, and organizational practice. His career spans behavioral health, substance use, supportive housing, workforce development, reentry, public health research, and adult education.
Dr. Johnson brings more than 25 years across community, correctional, human-service, research, and higher-education settings to work at the intersection of wellbeing, leadership, trauma, reentry, and community transformation. His doctoral work examined the lived experiences of men entering reentry or rehabilitation programs after incarceration.
"Care is not simply a private virtue. It is a condition we can design."
His approach asks a practical question: What changes when care is built into the way organizations lead, relate, and work?
